Graveside memorial service for Connie Sylvia Rasnake Thompson, age 94, of New Smyrna Beach, formerly of Southwest Virginia and Laramie, Wyoming, who died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Fairgreen Assisted Living, New Smyrna Beach, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 13 at Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon, Virginia.

Born in Wilder, Virginia, Mrs. Thompson, a former motel owner, loved to dance and have company, and was quite the "social animal". She attended many social clubs, including the Moose, Elks, and American Legion.

Survivors include 1 son, Gary Thompson and his wife Maggie of Salem, Virginia; 2 grandchildren, Misty S. Reynolds and Ginny E. Thompson; 1 brother, James Cornet and his wife, June of Rasnake, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by a son, Danny 2 years ago, and her husband, Dan W. Thompson 19 years ago.
