Anne P. Rendle

Anne was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on Apr. 2, 1927.  She died peacefully at the Little River Manor Assisted Care Home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on Aug. 30, 2017.  The daughter of Helen and John Perry, Anne married U.S. Army Master Sergeant, Albert S. Rendle on Oct, 9, 1954 in Linwood, Penn.  Together they had four sons, Albert (married to Betty), Blackwood, NJ; John (married to Ellen), Orlando FL; Michael, Wilmington, DE and Scott (married to Donna) in Wilmington, Delaware.  Her 5 grand-children were her delight, Jennifer Franks and family in Portsmouth, VA; Amy Emerson and family in Amherst, NH; Evelyn Rendle in Wilmington, DE; Michael Rendle in Sugarland, TX; and James Rendle in Wilmington, DE.  She adored her 7 sweet great-grandchildren:  Christian, Jacob, Gavin, Nathan, Luke, Elliana and Brynlee.   

Anne was a dedicated wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.  Her smile and twinkling eyes charmed everyone she met.  She worked at the Surrey and Coach House Restaurants in Wilmington.    Anne and Al retired to Edgewater Landing in 1990 and became involved in the community there.  She was Miss Sunshine, was active in exercise and ceramics classes, in the Canasta and Women’s Clubs.  She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and volunteered reading to elementary school-children and at the Hospice Thrift Shop.    

The family would like to thank the staff of Halifax Hospice and the owners of Little River Manor Assisted Living, Joyce and Doug MacLean and their staff.

A memorial service will be held at the Edgewater Landing Clubhouse on Sept. 24th at 1:00- 4:00 p.m.
