Ben McGraw, age 77, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Born in Eckman, West Virginia, Ben came to this area in 1972 from Baltimore, Maryland.
An Air Force Veteran, he was a retired department manager for Bondesen Cadillac-Oldsmobile-Chevrolet, in DeLand. He was a member of Servants’ Quarters Fellowship of New Smyrna Beach; New Smyrna Lodge #149, Free and Accepted Masons; Scottish Rite Valley of Orlando, Bahia Shrine Temple of Orlando; and New Smyrna Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. McGraw was also a certified SCUBA diver and a private pilot, retired member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bonnie; a daughter, Kelly Wilen and her husband, Randall, of St. Cloud; and four grandchildren, Savannah, Randy, Andrew, and Kristopher.
A celebration of his life with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at New Smyrna Beach Middle School, 1200 South Myrtle Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, with Dr. David Starkey, Servants’ Quarters Fellowship, officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. Sunday until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Servants’ Quarters Fellowship, 1429 Sabal Palm Dr., Edgewater, FL 32132.
