Catherine "Cat" Heidrick Mitchell

Cathy “Cat” Heidrick Mitchell, age 60, of Edgewater, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Florida Hospital New Smyrna.  

Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Charles Heidrick and Thelma Ream Scrivano; Cathy came to this area as a child, where she remained to finish school and raise her family.  

Cathy touched a lot of lives and made many good friends through her years of serving, locally, at  Little Drug Company, Peggy’s Country Kitchen, and Teddy’s Family Restaurant. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed Scrabble, and was a selfless person, who genuinely loved people and would help them any way possible.

Survivors include three daughters; Shannon Newcomb, Melody Newcomb, and Amanda Killenbec; her mother, Thelma “Tee” Scrivano, two brothers, Joe and Tom Heidrick; and three grandchildren. Cathy was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Settle-Wilder’s chapel, with the Reverend Brian Melanson, First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach, officiating. Family and loved ones will gather from 5:00 p.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.
