Frank J. Marziano, Sr.

Frank J. Marziano, Sr., age 94, of Edgewater, died Friday, December 1, 2017 at home, with loved ones at his side.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Marziano came to this area in 1992 from Pompano Beach.

As a young man during the Great Depression, he worked in Civilian Conservation Camps.  During World War II, he served with the U. S. Navy, and then went to work in manufacturing.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion Post 17.  A true family man, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and making family movies.

Survivors include three daughters, Sissy (Bill) Slater of Pensacola, FL, Marelene (Greg) Marple of Edgewater, and Belinda (Jim) Ezell of Edgewater; a son, Frank (Patty) Marziano of Miami Lakes; three granddaughters, Stacey (Darrell) Melton, Michelle (Aaron) Digiacomo, and Laurel Ezell; two grandsons, Mike (Melissa) Marple and Tim (Sarah) Slater; 9 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Connor, Garrett, Gabrielle, Taylor, Chase, Austin, Aubrey, and Marin; a sister, Nina (Pete) Ogonowski of Toms River, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Marian; parents, Frank and Josephine Marziano; sisters, Flo, Marie, and Rosie; and brothers, Busty and Jimmy.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, at Settle-Wilder’s chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach.  Entombment will follow in All Faiths Mausoleum at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
