Jack G. Christian

Jack G. Christian, age 94, of Edgewater, died peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017 at his residence. Born in Tifton, Georgia; Jack moved to this area in 1976 from Beaufort, South Carolina. 

A retired oil distributer; Jack served as a merchant marine during WWII. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed walking on the beach, reading, cooking, traveling, entertaining friends, and cocktail hour. He loved animals and had always appreciated sports cars.  

Survivors include his wife of ten years, Laura;  daughter, Martha Christian of California; son, David Christian of Utah; step-daughter, Amelia (Lin) Bond of Edenton, North Carolina; grandchildren, Yancey (Joe) Surber, Linwood Bond, Jr., Courtenay (Nathan) Lee, Sam (Michelle) Bond; and 8 great-grandchildren.  Jack is preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Sarah Whitaker Christian.

Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 2, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with Pastor David Keazirian and Canon Richmond Bridge officiating.
