Julie Hubbard Obituary

Julie Reitz Hubbard, age 70, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018.  Born in Leesburg, to Earl and Dorothy Reitz; Julie moved to this area 38 years ago from Sunset Harbour, FL.  

A retired teacher, Julie was a graduate of the University of Florida, and received her masters degree through Nova Southeastern.  Julie had strong faith in the Lord; was a former member of the Smyrna Yacht Club, and loved her cat, Buddy.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, watching old television shows, and playing music.  She played the clarinet, piano and the church organ.  As a volunteer, she was a key club sponsor at New Smyrna Beach High School and assisted at the Gifts of Love Food Pantry.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Larry; a daughter, Jody Hubbard Strickland, and her husband Gus, of Edgewater; mother, Dorothy Reitz; and her brother, Rocky Reitz. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Marie Hubbard and her father, Earl Reitz.  

There are no services planned at this time.
