Ken “Poppy” Crete, age 60, of Edgewater, died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts to Paul and Virginia Haynes Crete, Kenneth moved to this area from his birthplace. He worked in production maintenance for Boston Whaler for many years. Kenneth was an avid New England Patriots fan, enjoyed putting a smile on peoples faces and loved every animal. His true love was spending time with his family and being a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Diane; mother, Virginia Beasley; 3 brothers, Steven (Lampi) Crete, Timmy (Debbie) Crete and Rick Crete; sister, Cindy (Walter) Cheever and many nieces and nephews, stepdaughter, Sheila (Ricky) Zimmerman of Port Orange; 3 step-grandsons, Jacob, Joey and Matthew Carroll; 4 step granddaughters, Devin Phillips, Lacy Clifford, Tiffaney Ingham and Emily Carroll; numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Chapel, New Smyrna Beach. Burial will be private at Daytona Memorial Park.
