Latasha R Blount

Latasha R. Blount, age 45, of New Smyrna Beach, passed Monday, March 13, 2017 at Florida Hospital New Smyrna.  Born in St. Augustine, Ms. Blount was a lifelong area resident.  A devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she loved her family dearly.  She enjoyed cooking and old school rhythm and blues music.  Her favorite song was “Meet Me at the Altar.”

Survivors include 2 sons, Antwaune Blount and his fiancé, Crystal Gamm, and Calvin Blount, both of New Smyrna Beach; 3 grandsons, Calvin Blount, Jr., Jacquez Ivy, and Malik Blount, all of Edgewater; 5 granddaughters, Tateana Blount, Khamari Blount, Jordyn Blount, all of New Smyrna Beach, Quantaysha Blount, Zakariyah Blount, both of Edgewater; 3 sisters, Ericka Blount and Chasity Blount, both of New Smyrna Beach, and Coretta Blount of St. Augustine; a brother, Arlis Blount of Palm Coast; her mother, Denise Ofide of New Smyrna Beach; her father, Arlis Blount of St. Augustine; and a good friend, Bill Meade.  She was preceded in death by a son, Quantavius Blount and 2 brothers, Kleshon and Reginald Blount.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at Apostolic Faith Temple, with Pastor Tyrone Ofide, Sr., of New Hope Baptist Ministry Church, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Apostolic Faith Temple.
