Margaret Elinor Denison

Margaret E. Denison, 88 years old, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away on October 17, 2016. “Margie” was born to Nellie and Richard Hobteld in Paterson, New Jersey on November 21, 1927 and came to New Smyrna in 1979.

After high school, she went into the medical field and became a nurse, x-ray technician, EKG technician and also a hemodialysis technician, which she operated at home for her husband, Charlie, until his transplant in 1975. Margie and Charlie traveled the Hudson River in their Chris Craft and then traveled to every state in the union, in their motorhome. Margie loved playing cards with all of her friends and also, rummy cube gals. She loved doing all kinds of crafts.

Survivors include five daughters, Margaret Hill, Linda and John McKeddie, Dorothy Custer and Charlie’s two daughters, Christine and Vincent McNally, and Debbie Regula. There are also six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She has one sister, Nellie, and brother-in-law, Jim; two nieces, Nancy and Donna; and one nephew, Richard.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with the Reverend Mark Spivey officiating. Her remains will be placed in the All Faiths Mausoleum at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida.

Margie always said she had a good life and that God was good to her.
