Surrounded by her loving family, Minnie M. (Bryant) Alderman, age 92, of New Smyrna Beach, made her peaceful transition to the kingdom of God, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice Care Center in Edgewater.


Born in Daytona Beach, Mrs. Alderman, grew up in Marion & Volusia Counties. She was a graduate of the historical Campbell High School and attended Bethune - Cookman College.  Committed to a life of  community service, Mrs. Alderman was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, serving on numerous committees during her 61 years of membership,  a lifetime member of NAACP,  President  Emeritus of Minerva Christian Alliance. In addition, she also served on the Family Selection Committee and Executive Board of Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Volusia. Mrs. Alderman was a charter member of the Citizens Patrol (formerly known as NOMS) of New Smyrna Beach Police Department and the Glencoe-Geiger Cemetery Preservation Committee. 


Mrs. Alderman was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Willie J. Alderman. Her legacy of loyalty and service continues.
Survivors include a daughter,  Rosalind Alderman-Little (Anthony) of New Smyrna Beach; granddaughter, Alayna Minette Little ; grandson, Anthony R. Little, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach; brother-in-law, Milton Alderman (Hilda) of Callahan, Florida; sister-in-law, Edith Alderman of New Smyrna Beach; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. 


Calling hours will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, October 13th, at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 569 Washington Street, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14th, with Pastor Douglas Hamilton officiating. 
Sincere thanks and gratitude beyond measure is extended to Dr. Carmen Serrano-Lopez and staff, Dr. Regina Asihene, and the staff of VITAS Hospice and Halifax Health Hospice for the compassionate care rendered.
