Nancy Darlene Henry, age 62 of New Smyrna Beach, a clinician, academician, and researcher died at home Friday December 8, 2017.
Born in Jacksonville, she graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School. Dr. Henry earned her associate degree at Daytona State College; and both Master of Science and PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles. She spent 21 years with the Adventist Health System in both Florida and California; and, 15 years with the U.S. Veteran Administration. Her area of specialty was geriatrics. She was a member of the Smyrna Yacht Club; and, spent free time tending to and providing affection to her Lakeland Terrier show dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Robert (whom she married on Valentine’s Day 2004) and her siblings; sisters Judy (Thomas) Haller of Port Orange, Brenda Thoburn of Daytona Shores, and Sylvia (Jamal) Rasoulpour of Palm Coast; and brother Eugene Long of New Smyrna Beach. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday, December 16 at Settle Wilder Chapel with Dr. Devon Jones, Halifax Health Hospice officiating.
