Nancy Rose O'Hara Weigand

Nancy Rose O'Hara Weigand, age 87, of New Smyrna Beach, died peacefully in her sleep, May 21, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange. 

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Paul and Mary Connor Aaron, Nancy raised her children in Pittsburgh, while working as a high school secretary. After retiring to Linesville, PA, where she volunteered at the Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels, she moved to New Smyrna Beach, in 2012, to live with her daughter, Phyllis.  A member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women, Nancy enjoyed reading, knitting and chair aerobics at the First Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Christine (Roger) Winstanley of Severna Park, MD, Kathleen (Larry) Laychak of North Huntingdon, PA, Bernadette DeVault of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary (Bud) Stellfox of Pittsburgh, PA, and Phyllis (John) Junkin of New Smyrna Beach; 3 sons, Tim (Mary) O’Hara of Largo, FL, Mike (Cynthia) O’Hara of South Hero, VT, and R.J. (Chris) O’Hara of Pittsburgh, PA; 19 grandchildren, Marybeth, Jayne, Annie, Jake, Colin, Kevin, Keegan, Patrick, Katie, Ryan, Sean, Brendan, Connor, Brigid, Alex, Alison, Sadie, Ian and Charlotte; 2 great grandchildren, Wesley and Ana; two siblings, Sister Mary Philip Aaron and Brother Philip Aaron.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert O’Hara; second husband, George Weigand; 2 brothers, Fr. James Aaron and Paul Aaron; and a sister, Bernadette.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, with the Reverend Patrick Quinn T.O.R. officiating.  Friends will be received from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27.
