Patricia Ann (Wood) Walker

Patricia A. Wood Walker 59, a life-long resident of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, completed her life’s journey on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.  She was born May 31, 1958 to Jim and Rosa Wood in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and is the seventh of twelve children. 

  

Missionary Walker attended the public schools in New Smyrna Beach, graduating from New Smyrna Senior High in 1976. After graduation she attended Daytona Beach Jr. College and obtained her Nursing Assistant Certificate. Missionary Walker was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost in high school at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church under the Pastorialship of the late Elder Thomas Teemer. While at Oak Grove she served on the Junior Usher Board, Youth Choir, Youth Department and cleaning committee. 

  

November 27, 1981 she was united in holy matrimony to Robert A. Walker Jr. In January 1988 Missionary Walker moved her membership to Apostolic Faith Temple under the Pastorialship of Elder Robert B. Thomas. While at Apostolic Faith Temple Missionary Walker served in different capacities. She served as President of the Youth Department, President of the Usher Board, was a member of the Missionary Board, Secretary of the Sunday School Department as well as on the kitchen committee. Missionary Walker also served as President of the Usher Board of the Florida State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World under the Diocesan of Bishop Billie G. Newton.  

  

In January 2011, Missionary Walker moved her membership to Helping Hand Ministry of Hope, Inc. at Oak Grove Church of the Apostolic Faith, where she serves as first Lady under the Pastorialship of her husband, Elder Robert A. Walker Jr. Missionary Walker is a devoted member who serves wherever needed as is loved by all.  

  

Missionary Walker was employed by Bert Fish Medical Center in 1977 as a Nursing Assistant and later as Secretary for the Dietary Department retiring to serve as a Therapeutic Foster Parent for many years. She has one devoted daughter Brittany Walker. 

  

Missionary Walker was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and was remission for period six year. The cancer has returned in 2015, but she still gave God all the praise and glory.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Apostolic Faith Temple, New Smyrna Beach with the Reverend Robert A. Walker, Jr., Helping Hands Ministry of Hope officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
