Patricia H. Swain

Patricia "Pat" (Hall) Swain, age 70, of New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange.

Born in  September 1946, Patricia was a lifelong resident of New Smyrna Beach.  She was a retired medical transcriptionist for the pathology department of Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where she worked for 40 years. Her hobbies included working in her yard, computers, and doing the daily puzzles in the Daytona Beach News-Journal. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored all animals, especially her beloved cat, Timmy. Patricia was a kind-hearted, gentle spirit and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Sherri (Swain) Simmons of Holly Hill and Corinne (Swain) Fisher of New Smyrna Beach; two sons-in-law, Lee Simmons of Palm Bay and Chris Fisher of New Smyrna Beach; four granddaughters, Tiffany (Simmons) Marsh of Palm Bay, Erin (Caleb) Soles of Wrightsville, Georgia, Aubree Little of Holly Hill, and Kimberlee Fisher of New Smyrna Beach; seven grandsons, Jason (Jenea) Simmons of Palm Bay, Sean (Rebekah) Simmons of Satellite Beach, C.J. Fisher of New Smyrna Beach, and Eric (Earon) Wilkinson of Edgewater, Cody Swain of New Smyrna Beach, Dawson Swain, and Michael Swain, Jr. both of Oak Hill; nine, soon-to-be ten great-grandchildren (4 boys, 5 girls, ?); brother, Tommy (Stella) Hall, Sr. of New Smyrna Beach; nieces, Debbie Hall Holmes of Palm Coast, Karen Hall Robinson of New Smyrna Beach, nephew Tommy Hall, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach and many other friends and family members. Preceding her in death were her parents Julius "Kent" Hall & Celia (Halstead) Hall; brothers, Bobby E. Hall and Milton Hall; son, Michael "Mickey" Swain Sr.; and Preston "Coot" Swain. 

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with the Reverend Caleb Soles, Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, Wrightsville, GA, officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service.

Memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s name to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
