Robert "Bob" McFarland

Robert J. “Bob” McFarland, age 73, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mr. McFarland was born in Boston, Mass, living in several places around the United States, before retiring to this area in 2014. A founding member of the National Property Management Association, he traveled all over the world as an asset manager for Raytheon, General Dynamics, and ITT, writing numerous award-winning articles in The Property Professional, and was also a past recipient of the NPMA Property Person of the Year Award and the NPMA Lifetime Achievement Award. He was married to the love of his life, Pamela, in 2005. An avid sports fan, he loved the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the game of golf. Bob was a family man and was a devoted husband and father who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Pamela; son, Stephen (Tara) McFarland of Cummaquid, MA; step-daughter, Christina DeFeo of New Smyrna Beach; grandson, Tyler McFarland of Cummaquid, MA; and brother, Paul McFarland of Scituate, MA.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Amalfi’s Italian Restaurant, 424 Luna Bella Ln. #111, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. McFarland’s name to the Arni Foundation, 600 Mason Avenue, Suite 140, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
