Robert “Bob” Vendrasco, age 77, of Edgewater, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
Born in Vineland, New Jersey to Isaac and Helen (DeLuisi) Vendrasco, Bob moved to this area in 1985. Upon moving to Florida he worked for the city of New Smyrna Beach Utilities Commission. Mr. Vendrasco also served in the United States Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. Bob enjoyed caring for his lawn, cars and “tinkering” around the house. He also enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything that was broken, thereby affectionately earning the name “Mr. Fix-It”. Neighbors called him “UB” for Uncle Bob as he was every dog’s best friend in the neighborhood; even having one dog named after him. Bob was a member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann; son, Robert (Bobby) Vendrasco and two grandsons, Adam and Alex Vendrasco of Hollywood, MD; sister-in-law, Loretta Wyman; niece, Christine (Robert) Hester; nephew, Thomas (Melissa) Wyman all of New Smyrna Beach; and nephew Gus Efelis of Pennsville, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Isaac (Junior) Vendrasco.
