Ronald Ross Obituary

 
Ronald Ralph Ross, age 70 of Frisco, North Carolina, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Ronald grew up in the New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater area. He was the 1964 Senior Class President at the then new High School built on the causeway in New Smyrna Beach.
 
Ronald was born in Chicago, Illinois. He lived in Frisco, North Carolina where he was retired from working at the Ferry System in the Outer Banks. Ronald was formally a Biology/General Science teacher, avid Chess enthusiast, and loved reading. He loved nature, hiking, and once belonged to a hiking club that took care of the upkeep and improvements of a piece of the Appalachian Trail.
 
Survivors include his sister, Rhonda R. Ross of Montverde, Florida, and two daughters, Katrina E, Ross of Roanoke, Virginia and Briana E. Ross of Boston, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bud and Cynthia Ross;  brother, Randall R. Ross and brother, Roger R. Ross.
 
A Gathering of Friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 23rd at Settle-Wilder Chapel, New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The American Cancer Society of SE Florida, 1737 N. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 140, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
