Vernell Kennedy

Vernell Kennedy, age 82, of New Smyrna Beach, completed her life’s journey on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was born April 16, 1935 in Valdosta, Georgia, to Frank and Finell Howell Kennedy.  

 

A homemaker, Mrs. Kennedy enjoyed gardening, fishing and she loved spending time with her family. 

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Joe Kennedy, of New Smyrna Beach; a brother, Morris Johnson, of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Margaret Johnson, of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Acosta and Jesus Acosta, of Valdosta; son, Kenneth Johnson, of Valdosta; grandson, Kevin Johnson, of Valdosta; granddaughters, Courtney Johnson and Samara Acosta, of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Kevin Johnson Jr., Camron Johnson, Kamrin Johnson, Kaydon Johnson, Yonna Johnson and Elaina Fryslie, all of Valdosta; a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of unforgettable friends from all over.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Apostolic Faith Temple, New Smyrna Beach with the Bishop Robert Thomas, Apostolic Faith Temple, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
