Wayne Schwanke

Wayne Schwanke, age 70, of Edgewater, died Friday, July 14, 2017, at Florida Hospital New Smyrna.  

Born in Baltimore, Maryland to William and Ella Baumann Schwanke; Wayne moved to this area in 1996.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and watching movies; however, there was nothing he enjoyed more than shooting pool with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol; five children, Shelly Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Edgewater, Anthony Ray West and his wife, Donna, of DeLand, Lynette Coffey and her husband, Dan, of Edgewater, Michelle Mader and her husband, James, of Delray and June Lopez of Edgewater; a brother, William Schwanke of Lersburg; a sister, Cecelia Segal of Baltimore; fourteen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with the Reverend Gary Tarleton, First United Methodist Church, Edgewater, officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery.
