Barbara Hilton

Barbara Hilton, age 86, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday October 8, 2021 at her residence. Born in Thomasville, N.C. to James and Alice Proctor Thompson, Barbara came to this area in 1971 from her birthplace.

An owner/operator of B & R Cleanup with her late husband Roy for 30 years where they made many friends. Barbara was a member of Space Coast Baptist Church, where she was very involved and loved her church family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and gardening. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, as well as a great great grandmother that will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She was often referred to as the mayor of Samsula.

Survivors include daughter, Kay (Walter) Sikes of Edgewater; 4 sons, Randy (Harriet) Hilton of Lenoir, N.C.; Craig (Monique) Hilton of New Smyrna Beach; Scott (Jackie) Hilton of New Smyrna Beach; Bryan (Shirley) Hilton of Morganton, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; Also survived by numerous nephews, and nieces. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy of 59 ½  years; sister, Doris; brothers, Jerry and Charles.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Cox officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Family will receive friends Tuesday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
