Gary Lee Sanford, Sr., age 72, of Edgewater, died on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Vita Suites at Carlton Shores, Daytona Beach. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio to Earle Alvin and Juanita Davis Sanford, he came to the area in 1986, from his birthplace.
Gary was an automotive teacher, and loved doing auto body work and teaching about cars. He was a member for 51 years of the Elks #1557, Edgewater. Gary was a volunteer fireman in East Liverpool, earning the rank of Lieutenant, prior to moving to Florida. He worked for I-CAR Hunter Engineering and enjoyed going to yard sales, spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sandy; 3 sons, Gary Lee (Tammy) Sanford, Jr.; Michael (Holly) Sanford, and Matthew Sanford; 2 daughters, Amy Triner and Susan Evans; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Teresa Williams and niece, Christina Bertrand.
Memorial Service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Whitman, officiating.
