Ivan Earle Carr, age 80, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at Halifax Health Hospice Edgewater Care Center. Born in Brownsville, New York, Mr. Carr came to this area in 1978 from Watertown, New York.

Retired from the United States Army, he previously served in the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Bridget; a son, the Reverend Danny Carr and wife, Hazel of Morganton, North Carolina; three daughters, Pamela Ellis and her husband, the Reverend James Louis Ellis of Lexington, North Carolina, Cheryl Ann Pack of Sanford, North Carolina, and Karen Carr Miller of Lenoir, North Carolina; a sister, Martha Moran of Lakeland, Florida; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with the Reverend Danny Carr and the Reverend James Ellis officiating. Private interment will be in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Halifax Hospice for the Edgewater Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129
