Margaret Donkin

Margaret Donkin, age 92, of New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday at Halifax Health Hospice Edgewater. Born in Preston, England, Mrs. Donkin came to this area in 2001 from Indialantic, having previously lived in Brodbecks, Pennsylvania.

A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and taking care of her family, as well as line dancing and dancing with her friend, Frank, at the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include her son, Timothy (Cheryl) Donkin of Muskegon, Michigan; 4 daughters, Lynn (Bill) Eigo of York, Pennsylvania, Susan (Leon) Ghougasian of Isleboro, Maine, Cynthia (Rick) Feller of Delray Beach, and Melanie (Buff) Hendricks of New Smyrna Beach; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Jennifer, Stephanie, Leon, Jr., April, Ashley, Zoie, Sydney; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nigel Donkin in 2005.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 1016 at the chapel of Halifax Health Hospice Edgewater, with the Reverend Mark Spivey officiating. The family will receive friends there from 1:00 p.m. Friday until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 for the Southeast Volusia Care Center.
