Sokoloski, Michael Anthony
Michael Anthony Sokoloski, age 81, of Edgewater, died on Friday, November 12, 2021 at his residence. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Anthony Sokoloski and Harriet Joswick ; Michael moved to this area in 2001 from Jenison, Michigan.
A retired teacher in Michigan, Michael also served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Adalbert, in Grand Rapids; and St. Gerard Mission Church, in Edgewater. He was an avid bingo player and bicycle rider; and he loved boating, fishing, hiking, spending time with his dog (or anybody's dog), and spending time at his log home on Drummond Island, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Bonnie; 2 sons, Anthony (Kelly) Sokoloski, and Daniel (Lauren) Ross; a sister, Patricia (James) Karston; 2 grandchildren, Kamara Sokoloski and Samantha (Adam) Titcombe; 3 great grandchildren, James and Reagan McConnell, and Austin Titcombe; a great great granddaughter, Ainsley McConnell; numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Lorraine.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Edgewater, with the Redemptorist Fathers officiating. Interment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
