Alex J. Roy

Alex J. Roy, age 28, of Edgewater, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Florida Hospital DeLand.  Born in Portland, ME, Alex came to the area in 1992 from Biddeford, ME.

Alex attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for 9 years. He was very adept at woodworking, landscaping and anything mechanical. He was an avid surfer, starting at the age of 7 and attended Jimmy Lane Surfing Academy, winning several awards. Alex was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots with his mother, especially when they won the Superbowl last year. He loved playing baseball and basketball, winning the 110% award in basketball.

Survivors include his mother, Sylvia (Michael) McCormick of Edgewater, 2 sisters; 2 step-brothers and several nieces and nephews. Alex was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Roy, and sister, Carrie Ann Chandler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Redemptorist Fathers, officiating.
