I am writing this on Thanksgiving and today I am thankful for Alex being a part of my life even if for a short time. Alex taught me to be grateful for all of my blessings and to not take life for granted. Alex had a big smile and loved life. He loved to surf and he cared about the people in his life. He was anxious to get this life back on track and to once again be able to surf. But life sometimes doesn’t go the way we plan and we don’t get to accomplish what we set out to do. Alex never got the chance to surf again. He was destined for something else...something greater....to go home to the Lord. Alex, I will remember you and your smile....till we meet again.

My deepest condolences to the entire family on the passing of Alex. God's ways are inscrutable. Know that Alex's story of courage and faith has touched the lives of so many people, who are praying now for the repose of his soul to be at peace, wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus.

There are no words - only prayer and the presence of our glorious Holy Spirit with you - with all who share the love and loss of Alex. Still, as I say that, I learned in the loss of my mother in June that in so many ways she is now closer to me than ever before - she knows my heart and what a comfort that is to know such perfect love. I know and love Alex and your daughter only through you - such beautiful gifts you gave to the world - we are all better because of you and them. I pray you know the now perfect love and presence of your son and your daughter - you gave them life and then birthed them into eternal life - a privilege of Our Blessed Mother - may She comfort you with the love of her Son - may you be filled to overflowing with grace in Jesus' name we pray...

Dearest Alex, you tried and thought you conquered....and then fate came and made it a little harder. I can only think that Carrie needed you near her, so your fate was now no longer to be here on Earth, but in Heaven with your family to look down and watch over those you love.

Your Mom, Sylvia is an inspiration to so many and has taught me strength and wisdom I never knew I could have. Please look down upon her in the coming years and help protect her and keep her safe and strong.
Rest peacefully Kiddo.

No words would ever be able to express the sadness and emptiness in your heart. May Jesus fill that void with his love and peace. Praying for you and Alex.

May God wrap his arms around you and your family during this time. I remember the first time I met Alex. He had a smile that could light up room, and an outgoing and warm personality. He told me with a smile that he had hoped i had only heard good things about him, because sometimes he could be difficult, but only for a short time! I told him it was all good! God bless you and give you the strength to get through this with fait

Sylvia and family ,
I cannot imagine the sadness in your hearts at this time. I share the tremendous sadness in losing a son and brother as I lost a daughter earlier this year. May God and Mary touch you with strength and a sense of peace.
