Ann Baslee, age 76, of Port Orange, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange.
Born December 17, 1940 in Osage, Iowa, Mrs. Baslee came to this area in 1972 from Orlando. She was retired from the Daytona Beach News-Journal after 27 years and went on to volunteer her time to the Meals on Wheels program and Halifax Health Hospice, Southeast Volusia Care Center, as a Eucharist minister. Ann was a member of the Legion of Mary, Sacred Heart CCW, and St. Vincent DePaul at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Lynn (Gene) Bennett of Columbus, GA, Brenda (John) Beall of Kissimmee, Tena (Sid) Rick of Port Orange, Tammy (Gerard) Winders of Port Orange, Terri Reichert of Jacksonville, and Wendy Scarborough of St. George, UT; three sons, Bruce (Eileen) Baslee of Orange, CA, Keith (Carla) Baslee of Clearwater, and Tracy Baslee of Lincoln, NE; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, all very much loved. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren (Scoop) Baslee; her parents; seven brothers; and two sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Redemptorist Fathers officiating.
