Annette M. Kern

Annette M. Kern, age 86, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Regency Elderly Care, Edgewater.  Born in Detroit, Michigan to Grace and Sam Coniglio; Annette moved to this area in 1989 from Utica, Michigan.  

A former housekeeper for the neonatal unit at the hospital in Michigan.  Annette was a member of St. Gerard Mission Church, Edgewater; Mrs. Kern enjoyed sewing and she turned into a card shark once she retired.  Her favorite thing was to spend time with her husband, and their children and grandchildren.  

Survivors include 4 children, Ed (Perri) Kern, of Michigan, Diane Kern, of Edgewater, Donald (Laura) Kern, of Michigan, and Laurie (Jerry) Merchant, of Edgewater; 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 10 great grandsons; 2 step great granddaughters; a brother, Robert (Barbara) Coniglio, of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.  Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, in 2007; grandson, John, in 2005; 2 brothers, Joseph and Frank Coniglio; and a sister, Josephine Henry.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, at Settle-Wilder’s chapel, with Father Patrick Quinn, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, officiating.  Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.  Friends will be received on Thursday, November 1, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Friday.
