Anthony K. Hugger, age 68, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Indigo Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Daytona Beach. Born in Avon Park, Anthony was a United States Army Vietnam veteran.
He was an employee at Wassaic Developmental Center and Hopewell Precision. Anthony was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, New York and Bethel Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach. He enjoyed entertaining, grilling, fishing and was a gregarious person. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and would give advice and offer wisdom to his children and family.
Survivors include his 5 children, Anthony Hugger of Poughkeepsie, New York; Lisa Hutchison of Seneca Castle, New York; Edward Hugger, of Poughkeepsie, New York; Tashun Stephens (Katherine Jones) of Edgewater; and Jammel Hugger of New Smyrna Beach; 2 grandchildren, Tashun Stephens and Ja’Sia Stephens; mother, Hattie Pressley of Avon Park; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family. Anthony was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Blackmon in 2009 and his wife, Ora Hugger in 2015.
Funeral service at the graveside will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11th at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, with the Reverend Dr. Jesse Bottoms, Jr., Beulah Baptist Church officiating.
