Barbara Galletta

Barbara Foray Galletta, age 87, of Edgewater, entered Heaven on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  

 

Born February 09, 1931 in Manhattan, New York, Barbara was the oldest of four children.  She married her sweetheart, Thomas Galletta on April 15, 1950 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2013. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters.  Barbara moved with her family to this area from Stony Brook, New York in 1980. 

 

Barbara is survived by two of her brothers Paul and Jack; her daughters Gayle Galletta (Bjorn) and Donna Klaver (Ko); seven grandchildren Erik, Nikolas, Jake, Annika, Rudy, Sean and Nico and many, many friends who will miss her dearly.

 

Barbara loved working with children, taking care of animals working in the garden and giving back to her community.  She traveled to Maryland regularly to spend time with her grandsons whom she adored. She took such joy in watching them grow.

 

Her family and friends are invited for a time of remembrance on Friday, April 20 from 5-8 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, 406 S. Orange St. in New Smyrna Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, the 21st, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Edgewater with entombment immediately following at All Faiths Mausoleum, Sea Pines Memorial Gardens.
