Betty Hardock

Betty Hardock, age 84, of Edgewater, died peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Hardock came to this area in the summer of 1960, during the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis and Hurricane Donna.

Betty was a hairstylist before she became a secretary for Edgewater Public School, where she worked  for over 20 years. She was a former member of the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed making crafts. Mrs. Hardock’s baking skills were incredible and at one time she ran a wedding cake business out of her home, making numerous cakes over the years. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and she was undeniably the best mom on the planet.
                    
Survivors include 4 children, Kathy (Jerry) Bohman of Port Orange, Steven (Rachel) Hardock of New Smyrna Beach, Sandi (Steve) Badali of Edgewater, Scott (Nanette) Hardock of Valdosta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren, Bruce Bohman and his fiancé Santhi Chilukuri , Tessa, Reanna, Elliott, Amanda and Scott Hardock, and Alex Kinsey; and a nephew, Martin Harris.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Steve Hardock, in 2016.

A celebration of her life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at the Settle-Wilder Chapel, with her grandson, Bruce Bohman, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Veteran’s Wall Mausoleum at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.  The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Edgewater Fire Rescue Auxiliary, 2616 Hibiscus Dr, Edgewater, FL 32141.
