Carolyn Glenn, age 80 of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice in Orlando, with family at her side. Born in Pensacola, Carolyn came to this area in 1992 from Tampa.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, she taught elementary school as a young woman. She was a member of Coronado Community United Methodist Church, Smyrna Yacht Club, and volunteered at Bert Fish Medical Center, now Florida Hospital New Smyrna. She was also a member of the Daytona Beach Georgia Bulldog Club, Southeast Volusia Historical Society, and the Marine Discovery Center.
Survivors include son, Walter Glenn III and wife Donna, of Lebanon, Tennessee, along with their children, Hank, Fielding, and John; daughter, Cathy Glenn Sullivan and husband, Selby of Oviedo, and their children, Matt and Teagan; and a brother, James Phillips and wife, Ginger, of Clearwater.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at Coronado Community United Methodist Church with the Reverend Laura Berg officiating. A reception will follow at the family home.
