Cheryl Faye Walls, age 71, of New Smyrna Beach, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at her residence.
Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Jaba and Doris Swiger, on February 23, 1947, Cheryl and her family moved to Edgewater, FL in 1984. Early on, Cheryl worked as a beautician, and later in life, as a cafeteria assistant for Volusia County Schools, specifically at New Smyrna Beach High School and Indian River Elementary. Her most rewarding job, however, was spent as a homemaker, taking care of her two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, baking and volunteering countless hours at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4250, where she held an officer position for several years. Cheryl touched the lives of so many people, and was loved by all that knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Doris, of Shinnston, WV; daughters, Dana Wall, of Edgewater, and Susan Walls, of New Smyrna Beach, three grandchildren, Morgan Faye, Nicole Lizabeth and Gunner Joseph, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, in West Virginia.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, with the Reverend Mark Spivey officiating. A tribute ceremony and celebration will be held at the VFW Post #4250 at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018. Cheryl will be laid to rest, alongside her beloved brother, at Lumberport Lions Cemetery, in Lumberport, WV.
