Claire Kessler Obituary
Claire Marie Kessler, age 87, of New Smyrna Beach, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange.
Born January 9, 1931, in Bronx, New York, to William and Margaret Kelly Gaffney, Ms.Kessler came to the area in 2016 from Long Island, New York. She was a former office manager for Chase Manhattan bank. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading, and traveling. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was survived by her three daughters, Colleen Thompson of New Smyrna Beach, Kelly Halligan of Farmingdale, New York, and Kara (Charles) Sladky of Shirley, Long Island, New York; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one cousin, Marjorie Joho of Rosell Park, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Gaffney; and grandson, Ryan Halligan.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ms. Kessler at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Settle-Wilder Chapel, with the Reverend David Stork and the Reverend Deborah Bevilacqua-Stork of Center for Spiritual Living, Daytona Beach, officiating.
