Edward T. Farrar, Jr., age 86, of Oak Hill, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater, Florida. Born in Boothbay, Maine to Edward T., Sr. and Myrtle Campbell Pye, Mr. Farrar came to the area in 1976 from Forest City.
He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Farrar loved golfing and will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Marjorie; three daughters, Lisa Kuyk of Savannah, Georgia, Tami Farrar of Oak Hill, and Linda (James) Nolan of Port St. John; six granddaughters, Stephanie (Robby) Steele, Katie (Brian) Helmly, Jacqueline (Tony) Perez, Mindy (Justin) Watlington, Emilee (Jordan) Anliker and Nicole (Joseph) Malizzi; two grandsons, Jason Sickmiller and Alex Gilbert; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Joyce of almost 54 years.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 30th at Settle-Wilder’s chapel New Smyrna Beach with Pastor Robert Gaulin, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater with military honors. Friends will be received on Monday, April 30th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
