November 6, 1954 ~ June 11, 2017 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Earle Halliburton “Hal” Spence Jr., passed away June 11 after a skydiving accident in Eloy, AZ.  

Educated at Tampa Plant High School, Stetson University and Stetson Law School, Hal settled into a full life as an attorney in New Smyrna Beach.  He was past president of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of New Smyrna, past commodore of New Smyrna Boat and Ski Club, co-founder of New Smyrna Beach Ski Club and active member of Smyrna Surfari Club. 

Hal lived life to its fullest.  His interests included surfing, water skiing, snow skiing, guitar playing, spear fishing and his true passion, skydiving; making over 6,000 jumps and known worldwide as an organizer and mentor to the skydiving community.

Survivors include his daughter, Kaley; sisters, Vicki (Brian Vick) and Suzanne Spence Oveson; niece, Christine Caron; nephew, Shane Oveson;  great friend and companion, Tara Richards; and Cindy Spence, his former wife and mother to his daughter. He was predeceased by his parents, Earle (Burt) Sr. and Ida Spence.

A celebration of life is 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1st,  at SkyDive DeLand.
