Henrietta (Henny) B. Hagerty, 96, of Longwood, FL and formerly of PA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2019. She was born on May 10, 1923 in Spring Mills, PA to the late Dean S. and Kathryn Sinkabine Braucht.
Henny graduated from Coalport-Irvona High School in 1941 and Indiana State Teachers College (now Indiana University of PA) with a BS in Business Education in 1945. She was a teacher at Philipsburg High School from 1945-1951. In 1951 she married Carl William (Bill) Hagerty, Sr. in the First Presbyterian Church in Coalport, PA.
Henny and Bill resided in Glenside, PA until 2000 when they moved to Florida. Henny and Bill had been married for 59 years when Bill died in 2010. She was a member of Carmel Presbyterian Church of Glenside, PA and active in women’s clubs, a member of Easter Star and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for over 50 years.
Henny is survived by her son, Carl William (Bill) Hagerty, Jr., and wife Allison of Sanford, FL; granddaughter, Rebecca Lee Hagerty, and fiancé Michael Plotkin of Jensen Beach, FL.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in PA.
