James W. Clevenger, age 91, of Oak Hill, a former metallurgist in automotive, died on Thursday,
October 18, 2018. Born in Fostoria, Ohio to Rudolph and Winifred (Murphy) Clevenger, James came to the area in 1978 from Archbold, Ohio.
James was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Edgewater; American Legion, Post 285; Kiwanis Club past president and Masonic in Bryan, Ohio. He was an Elder in the church for many years. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley; two daughters, Deborah (John) Moon of Longwood and Susan (David) Bowman of Lakeland; son, Richard (Patricia) Clevenger of Sugarland, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Barbarann Girlie of Defiance, Ohio. James was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Catherine Clevenger.
Graveside service with military honors will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 Highway 1, Mims, Florida. A Celebration gathering will follow at the Lighthouse Cove Club House, Oak Hill, FL.
