James "Jim" Fred Sanders

James Fred “Jim” Sanders, age 55, of DeLand, died Monday, July 22, 2019 at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.  Born in Lake City to William Joe and Patricia Reide Sanders, Jim came to the area in 1982 from Marlette, Michigan.
 
An extremely knowledgeable service technician for Discount Propane, Jim’s passion was his chickens and his family. Jim was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and guns. He looked like Santa and was Santa’s helper throughout the years.  Most of all, Jim was a family man and truly loved spending time with them.
 
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pamela; 3 children, Steven Alan Dale Sanders, Timothy William Sanders and Karen Elisabeth Sanders; parents William Joe Sanders and Patricia Reide; brothers, Michael and Joseph; step brother, James Kopp; half brother Lane Hall; step sister, Karen McCullen and step mother, Linda Sanders. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan in 1988.
 
Viewings will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27th at Settle-Wilder Chapel in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
