Jerome Youman, 79, of New Smyrna Beach, Fl, passed away on Saturday, December 22 at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jerome was born August 25, 1939 in Oak Hill, Fl and later moved to New Smyrna Beach for the remainder of his days. Over the years, Jerome worked at Green Wood Construction and Matthew Wood Masonry. As a former masonry expert, he helped build numerous houses all up and down the Florida East Coast. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching all sports, fishing and hunting. He also loved thrift and garage sale shopping, and listening to music while looking out at the park across from his house.
He leaves to mourn his two daughters, Tammy Jean Kelly, of Daytona Beach and Laura (Willie) Williams of Oak Hill; and one son, Spence Youman of New Smyrna Beach; three granddaughters, Tammiesha, Lauren and Chelsea; two grandsons, Jeremy and Willie; one great granddaughter, Ja’nya; two brothers, Abraham (Ollie) Youmans, of South Carolina, and Linzy (Nickiea) Youmans, of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Beulah (James) Booth, of New Smyrna Beach, and Udela Gould, of Daytona Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Henry and Mathlene Fullington-Youmans; daughter, Betty Jean and grandson, Lee Antwan.
Funeral service for Mr. Youman will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at the Apostolic Faith Temple, 300 Milford Place, New Smyrna Beach, FL, with Pastor Robert Walker, officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, and also, one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Apostolic Faith Temple.
