John Roy Holland, age 86, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his residence. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Roy and Bertha Darst Holland, John came to the area in 2013 from Theodosia, Missouri.
John loved to fly and was a former corporate pilot, with Iowa Public Service in Sioux City, Iowa before retiring to Theodosia. Throughout his life, John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially liked fishing in Canada each summer with his sons. John loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Audrey and their seven children; daughters, Judy Williams-Hatcher of Edgewater FL, Sheryl Dodds of Orlando FL, Lori Kern of Albion IA, Jane Yurth of Lincoln, NE and sons, Randy Holland of Nevada IA, Scott Holland of South Sioux City IA, Carl Holland of Dillsboro IN; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lewis Holland.
A private family service is being held in celebration of John’s life.
