John Perry Jones, age 67, of Astor (formerly of Edgewater), died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Cornerstone Hospice, in Tavares. Born in Nahunta, Georgia to John Paul and Katherine Hickock Jones, John Perry was a lifelong resident.
A United States Army Vietnam veteran, John worked in the Commercial Building industry as a mechanical insulator. He enjoyed cooking, four wheeling and computers. John was a “Jack of all Trades”. He loved the outdoors, especially shrimping, fishing, and boating. John was always busy.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Bonnie; son, Travis (Mary) Jones of Astor; daughter, Amy Cooper of Astor; daughter, Michele Maloney; son, John Perry Jones, Jr. grandchildren, John Michael Jones of Niceville, Ashley Grace Barker of Edgewater, Corey Clinton Jones, Kayla Elizabeth Jones and Icea Ryan Jones, all of Astor; sister, Dottie Walsh of Greenwood, Delaware and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Sutton of Jacksonville and brother, Paul Jones of Las Vegas.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11 at Clinton Cemetery, with the Reverend Raphael Camilo, officiating. Followed by a "Celebration of Life" gathering at Riverbreeze Park (Pavillion #1) in Oak Hill, Florida.
