Leslie Edward Malachuk, 76, of Port Orange, previously of New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Port Orange. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Alexander F. and Ruth Drew Malachuk, Leslie came to the area in 2002 from Warrenton, VA.
A music equipment sales representative most of his life, in addition to a Realtor, Custom Builder & Developer, Leslie was a United States Army veteran. He loved music, played keyboard and if it had strings, he played that too. Leslie played in small local bands at venues such as Cheers, Peanuts, Pub 44, and Cabbage Patch, among others. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and refurbishing hidden treasures. Leslie enjoyed horse back riding, fishing and was an avid hunter in his earlier days. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Survivors include his son, Keith (fiancé, Sherri), New Smyrna Beach; two daughters, Lori (Ed) Breece, Lititz, PA and Karen (Tim) Frey, of York, PA; 3 grandsons, Jim Ober, Jon Ober and Scott (fiancé, Hali) Frey; granddaughter, Ashley Tshudy; 2 great-grandsons, Ricky and Jordan; 3 great-granddaughters, Brooklynn, Skarlett and MaryJane; all of PA, and a brother, Allan, of Glen Cove, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
