Marilyn Ann Kelly, age 85, of New Smyrna Beach, died at home peacefully, in the presence of her family Friday, March 9. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Kelly came to this area in 1998 from Valley Stream, New York. She retired from administration at Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Centre, New York.
She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach where she was an Eucharistic Minister and member of Council of Catholic Women. Previously she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Valley Stream where she was active with its Athletic Association, Rosary Society, and Catholic Charities. She also volunteered at Bert Fish Medical Center, now Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
Survivors include three sons, James E. Kelly and life partner, Kevin Sullivan, of Islip, New York, Thomas Kelly of New Smyrna Beach, Michael Kelly of Massapequa, New York; two daughters, Maureen Ruffini and husband, Peter, of Farmingdale, New York, Pat Zimmer and husband, Thomas, of Ocala; and two grandchildren, Jenna Ruffini of Farmingdale, and Luke Kelly of Lake Mary. She was preceded in death by her husband James; parents, Clifford and Mary Goette; and brother, Clifford Goette, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with the Reverends, Patrick Quinn T.O.R. and Seraphin Conley T.O.R. officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Settle-Wilder Chapel.
