Mary Frances McLaughlin, age 89, of New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her residence. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Leon and Grace Patterson McCluskey; Mary came to the area in 2004 from New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Mary was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and raised seven children. She loved cooking and owned a restaurant. Mary loved long walks on the beach and had several friends at the Bahamian Club, New Smyrna Beach.
Survivors include her 7 children, Andrea (Barry) McLaughlin of Princeton, New Jersey; Eugene McLaughlin of Haskill, New Jersey; Mary (Dave) Williamson of Spring Lake, New Jersey; John McLaughlin of New Smyrna Beach; Patricia McLaughlin of New York City, New York; Regina McLaughlin of Sarasota; and Monica McLaughlin (Ken Karmichael) of Somerset, New Jersey; 2 grandchildren, Amanda (Clark) Severson, of Los Angeles, California and Jonathan (Ashley) Williamson, of New York City, New York and great granddaughter, Poppy Callista Severson, of Los Angeles, California. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 2001; 2 brothers, Raymond and Leonard McCluskey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach with Father Patrick Quinn, T.O.R., officiating.
