Neal Edward Goodrich II age 50, of Oak Hill, died Friday, October 18, 2019. Born in New Smyrna Beach to Neal Edward, Sr. and Susan Ann Carpenter Goodrich; Neal, II was a lifelong resident of Oak Hill.
A commercial fisherman, Neal, II loved the river and fishing. He was a member of the Organized Fishermen of Florida and Shady Grove Church of God. He read a lot of books and enjoyed watching science fiction movies, especially Star Trek. Commonly known to everyone as “Little Neal” (even though he was 6’4”, it was a nickname he acquired as a child and just couldn’t shake). He was quick with a smile and loved a good joke. Neal was hard working and genuinely kind hearted. He truly loved the river and would rather fish than anything else.
Survivors include 4 children, Joshua (Felicia) Goodrich, of Edgewater; Jessica Goodrich; Sean, of California and Bram; his mother and father, Susan and Neal Goodrich, Sr. of Oak Hill; sister, Sonny Edwards, of Oak Hill; 3 grandchildren, Landon, Rhett and Ayden and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Memorial service will be Saturday November 2, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Shady Grove Church of God, 220 South Gaines Street, Oak Hill, with Brother Jimmy Burch, officiating.
