Robert Aquino, age 87, of Edgewater, died Friday, October 18, 2019 at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Born in Oakland, California to Eutimio Trimibo and Tranquilina Aquino, Robert lived his life in California, South Dakota, Colorado and the Seattle, Washington area; while sometimes snowbirding in Florida.
Robert served his country for 32 years in the Army and the Air Force. He was a volunteer with the USO at the Seattle airport alongside his wife, Sandra. Robert was a huge baseball fan and baseball card collector. He played senior softball for many years. An avid painter and charcoal artist, Robert did beautiful work and has many paintings and drawings to pass on for the family to enjoy. He was a very funny man with a quirky sense of humor and always kept his family laughing. Robert loved to cook, made fantastic soups and made tamales every year.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Aquino, they would of been married 33 years in December; and children from a former marriage, Connie King, Debra Diaz, Donna Schofield, Patrick Aquino and Margaret Aquino. He is also survived by his 3 step children, Kim Berthiaume, of Florida; Julia Kurtz, of Wisconsin; and Jay Elliott, of California; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Settle-Wilder’s chapel with Chaplain Scott Cronin, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, officiating. Service in Kent, Washington will be at a later date with military honors.
