Rosemary T. Rossi

Rosemary (McGuire) Rossi, 88, beloved wife of Nicholas Rossi, died on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Sandalwood Nursing Center in Daytona Beach surrounded by her loving family. 
 
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eva (Moore) McGuire. She has resided in New Smyrna Beach, FL with her husband of 67 years since 1981. Mrs. Rossi was employed by both American Fastener and Wolfe's Bakery while living in Waterbury. She worked for many years at Ridgewood Infant Care in Edgewater where parents were happy to know that "Gram" was in charge of the infant room. She enjoyed all family related events, playing bingo and she had a great love of reading. 
 
Besides her husband, she is survived by five children and their spouses: Sharon Lombardi and her husband, Salvatore; Deborah Scalo and her husband, John; Rosemary Boiano and her husband, Robert; Nicholas Rossi, and Joseph Rossi and his wife, Bridgette. She was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Jennifer Sarro, Michelle DePalma, John Scalo, Steven Lombardi, Jeffrey Rossi, Laura Tetteris, Gregory Rossi, Mark Boiano, Julie Ambrose, Anna Daniele and Nicholas DeLuca. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren with two more on the way. She was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas, John, Donald and Robert McGuire and three sisters Kathleen McGuire, Ellen (McGuire) Sullivan, and Margaret (McGuire) Boisvert.
  
The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff at Sandalwood Nursing Center as well as the Halifax Hospital Hospice associates who treated her with dignity and loving care. 
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Settle-Wilder Chapel in New Smyrna Beach. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater. Calling hours are from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
