Willliam J. Hayko, age 98, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Emory L. Bennett Memorial Veterans Nursing Home, Daytona Beach. Born in Binghamton, New York to John Anna Dudek Hayko, Mr. Hayko came to the area in 1980 from Madison, Wisconsin.
A retired Chief Master Sgt. with the Wisconsin Air National Guard , Mr. Hayko was an Advisory Technician for the United States Government.
Mr. Hayko was a lifelong member of the VFW, and the American Legion in St. Petersburg. He enjoyed traveling to Madison, Wisconsin to visit his family.
Survivors include his son, Ron (Jackie) Hayko of Edgewater, Florida; 1 grandson, Erik (Brenda) Hayko of Dane, Wisconsin; 1 granddaughter, Darci (Chris) Choler of Edgewater, Florida; 1 great grandson, Cameron Hayko of Dane, Wisconsin and 1 great granddaughter, Lainey Choler of Edgewater, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Fleurette; and brothers Donald and John.
Memorial service with full military honors will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 27th at Settle-Wilder’s chapel with Chaplain Raphael Camilo, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sunset Memory Gardens, in Madison, Wisconsin.
